The New Zip Line and the "Shoulder Season"

Last Week an neat thing happened. Not far from a place I nearly died a few summers back a bunch of people jumped off a cliff above Kennedy River... FOR FUN!!! Here's what happened to me.

Here's what they were up to;

WestCoast Wild Adventures zipline clip #1 from Cyclops on Vimeo.

It was the Grand Opening of West Coast Wild Adventures new Zip Line and Warren Rudd was there to document it and, in addition to his video coverage brought us the audio to make the following piece.

Long Term Plans for West Coast Wild and the Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks include Kayaking and other sustainable eco-tourist fun.

In other fun West Coast news the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby wraps up soon.  Get out there and get your fish on!!! We're working on details but expect live coverage during the weekend of the fish-off finale on the 11th and 12th of September.

The Wickaninnish Inn Pro-Am is coming up at the Long Beach Golf Course.  This event is essential for the extra curricular programs at the Ucluelet Secondary School.  Sponsor dollars and entry fees go to the school and it's a ton of fun. This year, like last, I'll be providing some live music for the dinner and Long Beach Radio will be bringing coverage from the course.  The score card is full but hole sponsors and other would-be donors can call Gibby at 250 725 3332 to get involved

At least two big things happen in the beginning of October. The Canucks get back on the ice and The O'Neill Cold Water Classic Canada hits Cox Bay (and perhaps North Chesterman). Listen to Long Beach Radio for the all your Canucks action as we bring you radio coverage as part of the Canucks Radio Network.  Just like last year I'll be running around like an idiot to cover the O'Neill Cold Water Classic so you know what's going down with Noah, Pete, Sepp, Raph, Shannon and all the other locals that made it such a party last year.

Thanks for listening to Long Beach Radio
