Alright folks, I'm back. A weekend in Parksville and a ton of work have left the blog a little neglected but I'm here now.
First off what's comin' up on the West Coast you ask? Well all summer Ucluelet is playing host to the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby and Long Beach Radio will be providing "fish of the day" reports and other coverage so stay tuned. Also SNFU are playing the Maquinna on Thursday... gonna be a crazy show in a crazy place, get yer tickets at the cold beer and wine in Tofino, on the other side of the coin, and peninsula you'll be able to catch some jazz guitar at the Blackrock.
KO and Five Alarm Funk are hitting the Legion this weekend too. May Long Music Madness out here.
Also, the Tofino Food and Wine Festival is creeping up in the first weekend of June, get your tickets before it all sells out.
Lots of exciting things happening on the airwaves as well! A very fun, three host day today on the air, myself in the morning, the incomparable Tommy Curley through the 10-2 slot and Slippery D covering your drive home and into dinner time, it's great havin' folks on the air. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
Thanks for listening to Long Beach Radio!

Canucks, another great Canadian guitarist and the 1 month count down.
Hockey fever is gripping the coast. Shelter and the Dockside Pub have been packed for the play-offs. Even Crazy Ron at Tuff City Sushi's put a TV in for hockey fans. Of course, we've got all the action going out over the air on Long Beach Radio.
Rock and Roll fever is rampant as well, Grady was here a bit back (see my interview with Gordie Johnson in the last post). Ross Neilsen and the Sufferin Bastards will be here in a little over a month. Heck SNFU is coming to play the maquinna!!! We've also got the high voltage AC/DC tribute Thunderstruck coming this weekend.
Had another top-drawer guitarist in the studio this last weekend too. Sean Ashby, touring in support of his new album "24 hours of daylight" was playing in Ukee and stopped by to say "Hi" and play some tunes. Never heard of Sean? well you've almost certainly heard him play, 12 years with Sarah McLachlan and a ton of other session work have put him all over the airwaves.
That's a little west coast rock and roll update. I'll have a more inclusive update soon.
Lastly, I'm getting married in a month, to the day...who'd'a thunk it...
