Get informed and plan to vote on November 19th.
Alright, politics covered let's talk about the upcoming Hallowe'en weekend, in chronological order (also, "starting with the one we're most excited about" order)
Saturday, October 29th; Long Beach Radio Presents; The Hallowe'en Bash featuring Ross Neilsen and The Sufferin' Bastards. We'll be bringing the Party to Tofino's Weigh West Marine Resort. Doors at 8, opening act Jay Bowcott of Tired Skies and Art School will be taking to the stage shortly after, then at 9:30 ish, about when the Canucks finish beating The Washington Capitals, The Bastards will hit the stage (in zombie form). Here's a neat video with a Sufferin' Bastards tune about murder with a skull in it, seems Hallowe'en-y to me.
In addition to some fun decorations we've got scary zombie themed movies that will be playing in the background like this classic:
We've also got prizes lined up for those who show up in costumes, there's gonna be a cash bar so the event is 19+, tickets are $10 and are available in The Dockside Pub at The Weigh West.
For The Grown-Ups in Ucluelet looking to get their Hallowe'en on before the 31st there's a party at The Ucluelet Community Hall, here are the details we have:
The party is called Night at the Cemetery, at the ucluelet community center main hall. It's Sat Oct 29, starts at 9pm-1am, $10 tickets, $15 at the door.
Proceeds of alcohol sales will go to breast cancer research :)
Costume contests with prizes.
It's a licenced event so its 19+.. music for everyone, and tickets are being sold at Pina clothing, Tula and Number 1 market!
The Legion in Tofino has The Funk Hunters on October 31st for "actual" Hallowe'en. Djs that will get you dancing. Tickets are available at The Tofitian Coffee Shop and The Long Beach Surf Shop. 19+ of course.
Also on Monday, October 31st there will be a number of local DJs at The Clayoquot Orca Lodge. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. More info on the Facebook Event
I know there are some kid-friendly events too, We'll try to add them before the weekend
Lastly, while not specifically a Hallowe'en party, a pretty awesome band Dance Laury Dance are playing the Maquinna on Friday.
I'm gonna wrap things up with a fun collection of Hallowe'en stuff, videos, songs and such you'll need for your own party.
