Been a while since our last blog post... So much going on! New clients, great events, listening to new music for the library. Anyway, speaking of great events and new music The Pacific Rim Arts Society's Summer Festival starts in a few days.
It includes live music, ballet, art shows, workshops and other cultural and artistic goodies! I'm not going to post everything here because they've already got it posted HERE.
I will however treat you to some of the music of a few of the acts there will be in attendance, we're going to try to have as many of them in the studio as possible in the next couple weeks so stay tuned:
Here's Washboard Union:
Also, long time friends of LBR WiL and The Ross Neilsen Band:
There's a taste of the music end of the PRAS Summer Festival which, as a radio station, is most interesting to us but, as noted above, there is a lot going on so check out the website.
Long Beach Radio is a proud sponsor of the festival again this year and pumped to see some good friends be a part of it.

Top Chef: Canada and The CBC Invade Long Beach Radio
In the last few weeks we've had a number of interesting guests including 2 Top Chef: Canada contestants and 3 CBC radio employees.... Not bad company for our cheeky radio presenters here at the end of the road. This morning on The Friday Funky Food Hour we had one of each; Here's the audio with national food columnist and CBC "On The Island" personality Khalil Akhtar joined by Top Chef: Canada competitor Nicole Gomes:
Since it's Feast Tofino time we'll stick with the chefs for another moment, last week's Friday Funky Food Hour had us visited by previous Top Chef: Canada competitor Trevor Bird from Fable. You can hear that one right now, too
We've also bees visited by Bob McDonald from CBC's Quirks & Quarks. He was out this way for a presentation and dropped in on Cam Dennison on the studio. Here's that one for you:
If I have the time to archive it Cam was also visited by Q producer Brian Coulton, we might get that one up online later.
Thanks for listening to Long Beach Radio. See you at The Feast Dockside Festival tomorrow!! -Geoff
